Design Thinking Crash Course
January 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pmFree
Learn How To Solve a Problem in 90 Minutes.
Interested in learning about Design Thinking? Have a problem you need to solve? Need a new idea for a business or a class project? Register for this Design Thinking Crash Course and learn this all in less than 90 minutes!
During this fast-paced workshop, participants will be introduced to the process of Design Thinking, and the steps of empathy, define, ideate, prototype, test, and share. The goal of this crash course is to quickly show how to apply this proven process to a problem or project.
This workshop will be delivered by the Residents of the Design Lab. Each participant will leave with a better understanding of Design Thinking, and a prototype they created as a demonstration of their success. Participants also have the option to start a project with Design Lab after they have completed this experience.
Registration reserves your seat in this workshop. Registrants are expected to attend, engage with the facilitator and stay throughout the duration of the workshop. Non-registered participants may attend, space permitting. Please note that these workshops are for members of the UC San Diego community.
Have questions? Just ask. Visit The Design Lab on the 3rd floor of the Design & Innovation Building during normal business hours.
About the Residents Program
The Design Lab Residency Program trains undergraduate and graduate students to support our staff that delivers knowledge, programs, and services in the field of Human-Centered Design. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a UC San Diego program, motivated to serve others, and have an interest in Design Thinking, creativity, and innovation.
Residents are trained to work with students, groups, faculty, and cross-disciplinary teams to identify problems, ideate potential solutions, and develop prototypes. After training, residents learn how to present on the topic of design thinking, lead a group of people in a workshop, support a team through a project and serve as a consultant.
